Perspective: Sizes of Planets in Relation to the Sun

The solar system consists of the Sun; nine known planets , three known dwarf planets, more than 130 satellites or moons, innumerable "small bodies" (i.e. comets and asteroids) and the interplanetary medium, Dark Matter.

Most representations of our Solar System look like this:

The inner planets are Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars. Pluto, the last known planet is the smallest in the solar system.

Between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter is the Solar System's main asteroid belt. Beyond the asteroid belt are the planets of the outer solar system ; Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto.
